As you might know, I’m a big fan of the show “Perception,” which features a professor with paranoid schizophrenia helping the FBI solve cases. Unfortunately, the series has come to an end as they were not picked up for a fourth season. So, needless to say I was expecting a grand finale of epic proportions that would send the show off with glory. What I got was basically just another episode.
It could have ended with the professor, Daniel Pierce finally professing his love to Kate, the FBI agent he works with. It could have ended that the whole thing was in Daniel’s mind and he was in a mental institution. Basically, it could’ve ended any other way than it did. It felt like I needed more out of the episode than there was to offer. Like it was just a season finale and that there was another season waiting in the wings.
Although, it did focus on Daniel’s disorder a little more than usual, which was good. It questioned if a serious mental breakdown were possible, which was also good. I was just disappointed in the whole episode and it made me crave the next season that isn’t in the cards. All in all a good show, but they definitely dropped the ball on the series finale.
